MIRI: A Chinese national suffered severe burns, and three other workers — two Malaysians and an Indonesian — experienced burns of varying degrees in an explosion at a pellet-making factory this morning.
The Chinese national was undertaking welding work on a "stove" used to generate heat when it exploded around 10am, according to the Fire and Rescue Department.
All of them were sent to hospital for treatment.
The Fire and Rescue Department said the explosion did not undermine the integrity of TreeOne Mega Pellet Sdn Bhd's factory building.
Six firemen were despatched to the factory and carried out a cooling operation on the stove.
