Flood victims drop to 112,692; Kelantan remains worst-hit

KUALA LUMPUR: The number of flood victims in nine states continues to decrease up to 5.40pm today, to 112,692 victims from 33,202 families, from 117,402 victims from 35,123 at 4pm earlier.

According to the Welfare Department's Info Bencana portal, the number of temporary relief centres has also dropped to 474 from 514.

However, Kelantan remained the worst-hit state, with 68,964 victims taking shelter at 189 relief centres in eight districts, followed by Terengganu, which recorded 31,405 victims at 190 relief centres in eight districts.

Kedah saw a rise in flood victims, with 7,573 individuals at 43 relief centres, compared with 7,460 earlier.

Pahang and Johor also reported increases, with 1,686 victims at 22 relief centres and 928 victims at 19 relief centres, respectively.

In Perak, 505 victims from 157 families were recorded in four districts, while Melaka and Negri Sembilan reported 167 and 74 victims, respectively.
