Abang Viva continues flood relief mission in Kelantan, Terengganu

KOTA BARU: Well-known volunteer Azwan Omar, popularly known as Abang Viva, 32, continues his mission to assist flood victims in Kelantan.

Since Nov 30, Azwan has focused on aiding residents in several affected areas, including Tumpat, Pasir Mas, and Rantau Panjang.

He said that despite challenges posed by high water levels in some locations, he and his six-member team used three four-wheel-drive vehicles to reach flood-hit villages.

"With these vehicles, my team and I were able to access affected areas to provide essential aid, such as food supplies and daily necessities," he said.

Azwan added that the mission was made possible through a combination of self-funding and public donations.

"Our goal is to assist as many victims as possible, and yesterday afternoon, we headed to Terengganu to continue our efforts," he said when contacted today.

After completing their work in Terengganu, Azwan and his team plan to return to Kelantan to resume their mission.

He noted that, as with previous missions, the team sleeps in their vehicles and uses mosques or petrol stations for bathing facilities.

"We're constantly on the move from one location to another. We sleep in our vehicles near the areas we aim to assist. This allows us to reach affected locations quickly.

"My team and I are grateful for the opportunity to carry out this mission and will continue to support those in need," he added.
