KUALA LUMPUR: Women in Barisan Nasional (BN) must harness the strength of each component party to regain the people's trust.
Its chief, Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad, said each BN women's wing possessed unique strengths.
She said that women should serve as an inspiration to one another, leveraging these strengths to rise again.
"Remember, our success is not measured solely by individual achievements but by collective accomplishments.
"Let us continue to instil the spirit of unity within ourselves. Unity is not just a beautiful phrase; it is the principle that underpins our strength," she said during the Golden Jubilee celebration of BN Women at the World Trade Centre (WTC) today.
Present were MCA Women's chief Datuk Wong You Fong, MIC Women's chief N. Saraswati and the Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) Women's chief Datin Zainon Kayum Khan.
In restoring public confidence, Noraini said this could be achieved through clear leadership.
She said that with continuous effort and commitment, BN's glory days could be revived.
"Let us never forget the people's hopes for us. Together, we must strengthen our resolve, double our efforts, and remain steadfast in this struggle.
"Once we take a step forward, we will continue to advance with confidence and determination. Let us prove that BN women will collectively achieve success," she said.
BN was established on June 1, 1974, by second prime minister Tun Abdul Razak Hussein, who was also Umno president at the time.
The coalition initially comprising Umno, MCA, MIC and PBRS was formed to replace the Alliance Party, with the goal of strengthening unity among political parties in the country.
