The crocodile is believed to have come from a nearby river before the matter was reported to the fire department.

Pengkalan Kubor Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) cheif, Mohd Zamri Omar, said several personnel who were coincidentally monitoring water levels in the surrounding area were then sent to the location upon receiving the call.

"Indeed, there was a crocodile in the village padi field, and it is believed to have come from the nearby river.

"Our team drove it back into Sungai Pengkalan Nangka, and the effort took about 10 minutes," he said when contacted today.

He said it could not be determined where the crocodile came from, as such an incident had never happened in the area, causing a stir among the local residents.

"We advise residents, especially those living in flood-prone areas, to be cautious of the threat posed by wild animals that may appear during the monsoon season," he said.
