Student riding motorcycle without a licence killed in highway accident near Kluang

KLUANG: A 17-year-old student was killed when the motorcycle he was riding collided with another motorcycle before slamming into metal road dividers at KM74.1 of the North-South Expressway (northbound) early today.

The victim, identified as Muhammad Nuramirul Iman Mohd Noor Izaharemie, succumbed to severe head injuries and died on the spot at the scene of the 3.10am accident.

District police chief, Assistant Commissioner Bahrin Mohd Noh, said the motorcycle ridden by the victim, who was riding without a license, crashed into the rear of another bike ridden by a 28-year-old security guard.

The impact caused the victim to slam his motorcycle into the road divider on the left side of the highway.

The security guard, who holds a valid license, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Enche' Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital.

He added that preliminary investigations showed Nuramirul was traveling from Simpang Renggam towards Kluang, while the other motorcyclist was heading to Kluang from Johor Baru.
