Missing 14-year-old girl returns home after nearly 48 hours

KUANTAN: A 14-year-old food stall helper, who was reported missing after leaving her house in Taman Sri Inderapura, along Jalan Kuantan-Pekan here on Dec 15, returned home safely yesterday.

Kuantan police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Mohd Zahari Wan Busu said Nur Soleeha Sorfina Zabri arrived at her family's home about 10.30pm.

"The girl, who left home on Sunday, returned on her own last night.

"We will record her statement today to determine why she left. There has been no official statement from the family since her return," he told reporters after attending a defence simulation exercise at the Gebeng police station here today.

Wan Mohd Zahari said investigations revealed the girl, who was no longer attending school, had previously left home and returned safely.

On Dec 15, Nur Soleeha Sorfina's mother lodged a police report at 8.49pm after her daughter was found missing since 3am that day.

In a separate matter, Wan Mohd Zahari confirmed that police had arrested four men to assist investigations into a break-in incident in Tanjung Lumpur, which went viral on social media last week.

He said investigations were ongoing and a statement would be issued if the suspects were charged.
