KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) conducted an enforcement operation around Kampung Baru to address the issue of vendors obstructing public pathways, last night.
According to a Facebook post, DBKL carried out 22 seizure and obstruction removal actions under Section 46(1)(d) of the Street, Drainage, and Building Act 1974, as well as the Kuala Lumpur Hawker By-Laws 2016.
"This operation was initiated in response to public complaints and to ensure that public spaces remain orderly and safe.
"All vendors and hawkers must adhere to the established laws and regulations," it said.
Among the items seized were plastic chairs, tables, canopies, gas cylinders, mobile metal stalls, and other equipment placed on sidewalks and public walkways.
It also said that all seized items were taken to DBKL's Seizure Store in Taman Miharja for documentation and further action.
DBKL assured that enforcement efforts would continue regularly to maintain the comfort and safety of city residents, visitors, and tourists.
