KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has expressed his condolences on the passing of Youssef Nada, the former activist of the Muslim Brotherhood.
"It is sad when a family friend, an activist of the Islamic movement from Egypt, as well as a famous businessman Youssef Nada, has passed away.
"On behalf of the family, we mourn and pray for his soul to be forgiven and granted a special place by His side, God willing," Anwar said in a Facebook post.
Youssef passed away at the age of 93. He was a businessman, the father of Islamic finance, and the founder of Al Taqwa Islamic Bank.
He was known for his success in human rights legal cases in Europe to defend himself against terrorism charges by the United States.
