KUALA KANGSAR: One person sustained serious injuries, while two others suffered minor injuries in a multi-vehicle accident involving eight vehicles at KM257 of the North-South Expressway (PLUS) northbound, near the Menora Tunnel, last night.
Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Assistant Director of Operations, Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, said the collision involved five cars and three motorcycles.
He said a distress call was received at 10.28pm, and firemen from Kuala Kangsar, assisted by Meru Raya, were dispatched to the scene.
"The accident involved eight victims, with one seriously injured and two others sustaining minor injuries. The remaining five were unharmed," he said.
The seriously injured victim, a woman driving a Perodua Myvi, was found trapped in her overturned vehicle. The two other injured victims were motorcyclists.
"The severely injured woman was rushed to the hospital by ambulance, while the motorcyclists received initial treatment at the scene before being taken to the hospital as well," Sabarodzi said.
The operation concluded at 11.49pm.
