Cops nab 21 in New Year's eve traffic crackdown

JOHOR BARU: Johor police arrested 21 motorists for various traffic offences in a special New Year's eve operation last night.

Nine of the suspects, aged between 18 and 53, were found drink-driving, 11 for reckless driving, and one tested positive for drugs.

Johor police chief, Datuk M Kumar, said the state Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department officers conducted roadblocks at multiple hotspots across the state. Police also seized 72 vehicles and issued 451 summonses for various traffic violations.
