PH not involved in solidarity rally for Najib, says PM [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Pakatan Harapan will not be involved in the rally for former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak on Monday.

"You have to ask Barisan Nasional chairman (Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi) as PH is not involved," he told reporters after visiting the Lestari Niaga Madani @ Wirawati here today.

Anwar said this in response to a question on the proposed rally in support of Najib on Monday and PH's stance on the matter.

On Monday, members of Umno and Pas are expected to attend the rally in support of Najib.

The rally will be held as the Court of Appeal will hear Najib's appeal regarding an alleged royal addendum order, which is said to permit the imprisoned former prime minister to complete his sentence under house arrest.

Najib, 71, has been serving a six-year prison sentence since Aug 23, 2022, following his conviction for misappropriating RM42 million of SRC International Sdn Bhd funds.

The addendum, purportedly issued by the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, would allow Najib to serve the remainder of his prison sentence under house arrest.
