NARATHIWAT: The Malaysian popular modern dikir barat singer who was caught for allegedly possession 6,000 Yaba pills with five others in November, would be charged at Narathiwat Provincial Court on Jan 14.
It is learnt that the six would be charged for jointly possession the pills and the drug consumption.
A spokesman from Narathiwat's Provincial Court said the Narathiwat Deputy Public Prosecutor office today has filed the case to the Court.
It is believed that Thai police has completed its investigation into the case recently.
The spokesman said after receiving the application, the Narathiwat court then called the 29-year-old singer and the five Malaysians to the court this morning.
"The singer and the five were arrived at the court from Narathiwat Prison about 9am (Thai time).
"The discussion between them lasting for more than four hours. The singer and the five were also explained on the case's proceeding," said the spokesman.
Meanwhile, sources said the singer who is from Kelantan told the court today that she and her husband have yet to appoint lawyers.
While the other four Malaysians, the sources said have already appointed lawyers.
"The court then set Jan 14 for the charges to be read to the singer and the five," the sources said.
Members of Malaysian Press were told by the court's officers that they can attend the trial on Jan 14 but with strict conditions.
Several Malaysians believed to be family members of the six, also spotted outside the court's compound.
The singer and the five were caught for allegedly possession the pills at a hotel in Sungai Golok town on Nov 1.
Following this, the court has granted police for further detention orders against tbe six for three months or up to 84 days beginning Nov 4.
