Trailer crashes into three vehicles, one seriously injured [WATCH]

KLUANG: A trailer crashed into three vehicles travelling in the opposite direction at Km 77.5 of Jalan Yong Peng-Kluang yesterday.

No fatalities were reported in the 2.10pm accident.

One of the three drivers sustained severe injuries, while the other two drivers and a passenger escaped with minor injuries and cuts. The 33-year-old trailer driver was unharmed.

The trailer was travelling from Renggam toward the Taman Seri Lambak (T6) roundabout when the driver is believed to have lost control, causing its rear section to veer off the left shoulder of the road.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Bahrin Mohd Noh said that when the driver attempted to re-enter the lane, the rear section swerved into oncoming traffic and collided with vehicles travelling in the opposite direction.

The vehicles involved in the crash were a Proton Saga, a Perodua Bezza, and a Mitsubishi Triton.

The 26-year-old Bezza driver was seriously injured, suffering fractures to his right thigh and hands. He was rushed to Enche' Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital.

The other two drivers and a passenger sustained cuts and bruises.

The 26-year-old Triton driver, a parcel deliveryman on his way to deliver parcels, suffered a cut above his eye and hand injuries after his 4x4 flipped over.

Bahrin stated that the trailer driver tested negative for drugs, and an investigation is underway under the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving.

All three vehicles were extensively damaged, with the Bezza completely wrecked.
