Politics is about seizing opportunities, says Kedah MB

ALOR STAR: Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Noor remains unfazed by claims suggesting that Pas is exploiting its participation in the "Solidarity with Datuk Seri Najib Razak" rally in Putrajaya tomorrow for political gains.

The Pas election director said politics is about seizing opportunities when asked about such claims.

"If a fish swims by and we don't catch it, it's a loss.

"But catching it requires the right tools. We shouldn't resort to bombing the fish... Just catch it properly.

"In today's transparent world, nothing can be hidden," he added.

Sanusi also said he will be attending the rally.

Umno on Friday had announced its decision to cancel its attendance at the rally.

Its party secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said the decision is in response to the decree of His Majesty the King and the directive from the Inspector-General of Police related to the rally.

Earlier today, Putrajaya police issued a stern warning against those planning to take part in the rally in front of the Palace of Justice here tomorrow.

Its police chief Assistant Commissioner Aidi Sham Mohamed said the rally has not received permission from the landowner, thus failing to comply with the conditions under the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012.

As such, Aidi Sham said the police would take strict action against anyone participating in the rally as it violates existing laws.
