BENTONG: Police have yet to identify the individual, believed to be a lorry assistant, who was killed along with his driver after their vehicle plunged into a ravine at Km42 of the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Expressway 1 near here yesterday.
The lorry driver in the 8.50pm crash has been identified as Norazuat Mokhtar, 39.
District police chief Superintendent Zaiham Mohd Kahar said investigations revealed that the trailer laden with scrap metal was travelling from Bukit Kemuning, Klang in Selangor to Kuantan.
"The driver is believed to have lost control of the wheel resulting in the trailer skidding and falling into the ravine on the left side of the road. Norazuat was killed at the scene.
"We have yet to identify the other victim who was travelling with the driver. Those with information on the accident are urged to come forward to assist investigations," he said in a statement today.
