Special RM500 aid for civil servants to be disbursed on Feb 25

KUALA LUMPUR: A special financial aid (BKK) of RM500 will be paid to civil servants in Grade 15 and below, including contract appointees, on Feb 25.

Government retirees, pensioned veterans, and non-pensioned veterans will receive RM250 on the same date, Buletin Utama reported.

This was stated in a circular dated Jan 27, signed by the Public Service Department's director-general Tan Sri Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz.

The circular specifies that the BKK is available to permanent, temporary, and contract officers, including those on full-pay, half-pay, or unpaid leave, as well as MySTEP personnel and interim teachers.

Retired civil servants and veterans who have been reappointed and are still in service are also eligible for the RM500 aid.

The RM250 will be paid by the Public Service Department, while the remainder will be paid by the respective departments where the officers are serving.

This financial aid will be exempt from income tax.

Meanwhile, the BKK will not be granted to officers in the top management group, those who have been subjected to disciplinary action, dismissed, demoted, or resigned between Jan 1 and Feb 25.

For officers who are suspended, detained, or have received a charge letter from the disciplinary authority, the BKK payment will be postponed until they are cleared of the charges.
