KUALA LUMPUR: A foreign tourist spontaneously busking in the middle of bustling Bukit Bintang captured the attention of the public as well as netizens with her rendition of the popular hit "Zombie".
In a TikTok video which has gained 1.6 million views, the woman managed to draw a crowd of locals who cheered her on and sang along as she gleefully performed.
Many praised the foreigner for her confidence in grabbing the microphone and singing in front of strangers.
The performance created quite a frenzy among the public, both young and old, who were clearly entertained.
TikTok user @Giorgio95Italiano02 commented, "This ain't no busking. This is a whole concert vibe."
Another user @mfaiqroslan said the woman's voice fit the song so perfectly, which made the crowd go wild.
"Her voice actually sounds similar to the original singer," said @mr.adamlokman.
"Zombie" was originally made famous by the Irish band The Cranberries in the 1990s.
The song carries a combination of grungy, gloomy and furious sounds as a show of protest against violence inflicted by the Northern Ireland conflict, which lasted more than three decades from the late 1960s to 1998.
