KUALA LUMPUR: An act of kindness by a woman has captured the admiration of social media users, melting hearts as a video of her feeding a starving stray dog went viral recently.
In a 34-second clip shared on Facebook, the woman is seen approaching a dog, believed to be heavily pregnant, despite societal and religious taboos surrounding such actions.
"A Malay hawker fed a stray dog before closing shop and even escorted the dog to a safe roadside spot for feeding, expressing concern for its safety," the caption read.
On her initial attempt to approach the stray dog with food, she faced failure as the dog appeared afraid, taking a few steps backwards.
Undeterred, the woman fed the distressed animal, gently coaxing it into accepting the offered food.
With patience and determination, she finally captured the dog's attention.
She then led the dog to the side of the road, walking ahead with the dog trotting faithfully behind her to a safer place.
The video has amassed 194,000 views and 7,500 reactions from social media users who were deeply moved by the touching scene.
Many admired the woman's compassionate act, applauding her efforts to ensure the stray dog did not go hungry.
