KUALA LUMPUR: In a beautiful display of Malaysia's rich cultural tapestry, a wedding celebration in Melaka has gone viral after showcasing the unity of the country's diverse ethnic groups.

The video posted by MelakaExplorer on Facebook captioned "This is what 1 Malaysia means." displayed the joyous atmosphere of a Malay wedding featuring traditional silat, Indian drumming, and a vibrant lion dance performance.

As the newlyweds made their entrance, they were greeted by the rhythmic beats of the kompang.

The guests then watched in awe as the silat group performed their graceful martial arts moves.

The wedding also featured an enthralling lion dance, a staple in Chinese celebrations and the ceremonial garlanding with 'bunga malai' from the Indian cultural heritage.

The video garnered over 3,000 likes and 159,000 views with netizens praising the event's demonstration of unity and mutual respect among different ethnic groups.

"This is the spirit of unity among Malaysians. United we stand to maintain harmony and mutual respect for one another," says user Siti Baizura Mohd Noor.
