#NSTviral: Cows running loose on LDP highway stop traffic, amuse netizens on eve of Aidiladha [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: A video of two cows running loose on the Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP) went viral on social media yesterday, leaving netizens amused.

This happened just ahead of Hari Raya Aidiladha today, when Muslims observe the 'qurban,' or the slaughter of livestock like cattle and sheep to be offered to the poor.

Facebook user Hyzal Malakoff posted videos of two cows making a dash down the middle of the LDP highway during a traffic jam.

"To any mosques in the Kelana Jaya area, there are two cows on the loose on the LDP now heading towards St. Ignatius Church in Kelana Jaya. Thank you," wrote Hyzal in his post.

He also shared two pictures of a car hood damaged after one of the cows possibly collided with the car.

The picture was captioned: "In the end, the Myvi was destroyed."

One of the videos was taken from Paradigm Mall in Kelana Jaya, while the other was filmed by a motorist on the highway.

The video shows several drivers slowing down and stopping their vehicles when approached by the animals.

Meanwhile, netizens left hilarious comments on the post after watching the video.

"The cows are running away from 'qurban' (sacrifice)," wrote Mohd Redza.

"The cows want to change religion; they don't want to be sacrificed (laughing emoji)," commented Lestat Delioncourt.

Another wrote: "Let's catch it and sell the fresh meat."

"Let's go chase it," wrote Aliman Abdul Ghani.

In another comment, Aliman also wrote: "This must be because of some elderly 'uncle' who did not tie them properly."

"The cow wants to visit its friend for Hari Raya Haji," mentioned Ciksoffeeaa.
