JAKARTA: For a short while, villagers of Cikampek Timur in West Java, Indonesia, heard an eerie cackle they believed was supernatural.
The laughter was heard at night, near a local mosque.
The villagers' concerns however were quickly dispelled when investigations revealed that the source of the laughter was that of a mentally-ill woman.
She had been sleeping on the roof of the mosque.
According to TribunNews, social worker, Endah Oktaeni confirmed the incident.
Oktaeni said the woman was brought to a community health centre for examination.
"She was given a bath and her hygiene is now well-kept after we found her."
