KUALA LUMPUR: The civic-minded action of several traffic policemen in clearing a clogged drain by the roadside along the TREC parking area has earned praise from netizens.
A video shared by @erywahab on TikTok shows the policemen cleaning up a clogged drain, removing waste and placing it aside to ease water flow and reduce stagnation.
The policemen cleaned the drains barefoot, from the start of the cleaning process until the end. The video clip had the caption: "Police ready to serve".
At the end of the video, the traffic policemen shared three different pictures of them at the beginning, during and after the cleaning process.
The video garnered over 624,800 views and 35,100 likes, sparking praise from netizens.
Netizens, moved by their noble deed, thanked them for their dedication and effort.
TikTok user @syafiqaMell82 said their effort was impressive.
"Excellent job traffic police even though it's not your usual line of work," she said.
"May more of our members have the heart and prioritise everyone's safety. May all their affairs be made easier," commented @MAN'SB.
Another TikTok user @n.alnzkmli praised the traffic team's initiative and sincerity in clearing public pathways.

Another user @James muslim said the traffic policemen's action should be an example to all.
