KUALA LUMPUR: The Auntie Anne's outlet in Mid Valley Megamall will be closed for thorough disinfection and cleaning after a viral photo surfaced showing a staff member kissing the pretzel dough.
Auntie Anne's Malaysia, in a statement, said the outlet will reopen once the disinfection process is completed and all necessary safety measures are confirmed.
The company also confirmed that the employee involved has been terminated immediately.
"At Auntie Anne's Malaysia, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of hygiene and safety for our customers and staff.
"We do not condone or tolerate any actions that compromise these standards.
"As part of our proactive measures, the outlet in question will be temporarily closed for thorough disinfection and cleaning," it said.
The company also reassured customers that their safety and well-being remain its top priorities.
