KUALA LUMPUR: Netizens have criticised a woman who was caught on camera allegedly swapping lower grade eggs for higher ones at a local supermarket.
A 53-second clip has gone viral online, showing the woman carefully selecting eggs from the top shelf and discreetly placing them into a carton on a lower shelf.
According to the original caption on the video, the woman allegedly took the more expensive Grade A eggs and placed them into a cheaper Grade B egg carton, intending to purchase the premium eggs at a lower price through this sneaky act.
The video was reposted on X and has garnered more than 573,000 views since its initial posting on Nov 12.
Many netizens have since left comments criticising the woman's actions.
User @Izzat28740032 commented: "How foolish! The price difference won't bankrupt you!"
Another user, @CliniqueKratos, remarked on how ridiculous the woman's actions were, noting that the price difference between the different grades of eggs is only a few ringgit.
User @ahmadanaqi compared the woman's behaviour to someone they had encountered before, who would peel onions before weighing them.
