KUALA LUMPUR: Residents of a village in Sik, Kedah became very worried, when their pet animals kept disappearing or turned up dead in the last few weeks.
Suspecting their pets might have been attacked by a wild animal, residents allegedly sought help from Sik's Perhilitan department to set a trap and caught a clouded leopard.
A video of the gold and black leopard growling inside a cage, recorded by one of the villagers has also gone viral with over 50,000 views and 27,000 likes on Tik Tok.
In the video posted by Zul Khairi Jue, the leopard is seen growling at the people who were gathered around the cage.
The video also sparked a heated discussion among Netizens, when some said the animal was a jaguar and while others argued that it was a clouded leopard.
The animal was later handed over to the Sik Perhilitan department to be released into the wild or kept under its care.
