KUALA LUMPUR: A Malaysian man with cerebral palsy has completed a marathon, inspiring spectators with his determination and resilience.
In a video shared by @zlchengzheelong, Cheng Zhee Long, who was born with cerebral palsy and brain nerve damage, is seen crossing the finish line of the Soochow International Ultra Marathon in Taiwan.
Despite being overtaken by other runners, he expressed deep gratitude to the crowd who cheered him on throughout the race.
"Although I'm one of the slowest participants, everyone continued to cheer me on and offer their unwavering support," he said in an interview after the race.
"I hope to use my imperfect life to inspire others. As long as you don't give up, hope can be found anywhere."
The video has since garnered over 10,900 views, with netizens praising Cheng for his courage and positive attitude.
One user, @shirleybbfun, commented: "Malaysia is proud of you, and your absolute determination inspires us all."
Organised by Taiwan's Soochow University, Cheng completed the 75.3-kilometre race, which lasted more than 24 hours, starting on Dec 1.
