#NSTviral: Genting's 'snowfall' fizzles: Crowds disappointed by flimsy snow machine [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: Netizens were amused by a 'snow fail' at Genting Highlands, where a large crowd gathered in eager anticipation of a spectacular snowfall, only to be left disappointed.

In a TikTok video shared by @nellyfairly, a snow machine high on a building began to release small amounts of snow that barely reached the crowd below.

The footage shows a group of people holding up their phones to record the moment, only to look up in disbelief as the 'snow' fell far short of expectations. The caption added to the humour, with the user joking that the crowd had been "scammed" by the feeble snow bubbles.

Genting Highlands is a hill station at the peak of Mount Ulu Kali in the Titiwangsa Mountains, central Peninsular Malaysia, at 1,800 metres. Located in Pahang, it was established in 1965 by Malaysian businessman Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong.

The main attraction is Resorts World Genting, a hill resort with hotels, theme parks, and a casino.

The video has garnered 237,200 views and over 3,000 likes, as netizens share in the amusement of the mishap.

User @noralynn2024 pointed out that the snow machine operates daily, suggesting it might have been "tired." Another user, @wawazaini03, present at the scene, said she could only laugh, while @bieha.tukiran added that the wind on her visit made the snow "fall like dandruff."

User @sabrivaco0q speculated that the malfunction could have been due to the weather but was glad the snow bubbles still brought joy to other children.
