KUALA LUMPUR: Netizens have expressed shock at the large crowds gathered outside a popular mall in Kuala Lumpur to witness the artificial 'snow' spectacle.
A TikTok video posted by user @gansahonn captures the scene outside Pavilion Kuala Lumpur Shopping Centre on Jalan Bukit Bintang, where a large crowd of locals and tourists alike overwhelmed the area, making movement nearly impossible.
Police were also present to manage the crowd to ensure safety and security.
The event took place at Pavilion Crystal Fountain, situated at the mall's main entrance. The synthetic snow, coupled with festive decorations and lights, drew a large number of visitors ahead of the holiday season.
In the caption the user noted that the artificial snow event was disappointing compared to his expectations, though he admired the impressive decorations, which were difficult to enjoy due to the overwhelming crowd.
The video has garnered nearly 200,000 views and 5,000 likes, as netizens react to the sheer volume of people in such a congested location.
User @janne898 remarked, "This is crazy, I'd have anxiety and faint," while @farahfzz stated she would avoid such crowded places, especially with babies crying in the crowd.
Concerns about safety were also raised, with @borneogurl05 commenting, "I feel worried looking at those bringing babies, and even more worried about the possibility of thieves targeting people's bags."
@imrubyren added that the situation is particularly dangerous for infants, as crowded environments "can cause deaths due to deprivation of oxygen."
