SLIM RIVER: Makkal Sakti has pledged its full support for all Barisan Nasional candidates contesting the upcoming 14th General Election.
Its president, Datuk Seri R.S. Thanenthiran, said the pledge was not an empty promise, and that its members will prove themselves in GE14.
He said Makkal Sakti has supported BN for the past ten years, and that there was no reason to change their stand now.
“Do not underestimate the members of Makkal Sakti and our undying support for BN because we have played an important role in helping BN win many parliament and state seats in the past,” he said.
Thanenthiran also said he expected BN to gain more support in Perak following the recruitment of 600 Makkal Sakti members in Bukit Gantang and another 777 in Bagan Serai.
“We are confident that they can help the BN candidates contesting these places to emerge victorious.”
He said this during Makkal Sakti’s state-level Deepavali celebration Dewan Tan Sri Ghazali Jawi here, last night.
Present were MCA secretary-general Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chuan and Makkal Sakti’s Muallim division chairman S.K. Rao.
Rao said so far, Makkal Sakti has gained the support of 1,500 Indian voters in Tanjung Malim.
“We will continue to work hard and win the support of the remaining 7,757 Indian voters in Tanjung Malim,” he said.
