GWGF pledges continued, undivided support for BN and Najib

SHAH ALAM: Gabungan Wawasan Generasi Felda (GWGF) has pledged its continued and undivided support to the Barisan Nasional (BN) government to continue governing the country.

Its chairman, Tan Sri Rozali Ismail, said leaders and committee members representing the 14 non-governmental organisations under GWGF have unanimously agreed to support Umno and BN in the 14th general election (GE14).

“The decision was made following detailed examination and analysis of the manifestos and policies presented by the respective political parties that will be contesting in GE14, and after taking into consideration several key factors.”

Rozali said this at Wisma Rozali here today after chairing a special meeting with leaders and committee members of 14 NGOs, representing Felda settlers.

He said Umno and the BN-led government had contributed greatly to the Felda community since its establishment in 1956.

“Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who has been with Felda since Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s leadership, has shown continued and strong commitment and responsibility towards uplifting Felda and settlers.

“Although Felda and Felda Global Venture (FGV) have had problems at the administration level, such as the one which involved the former Felda chairman, Najib has taken GWGF’s advice into consideration and changed the organisation’s top leadership.”

Rozali listed the contributions they had received including the New Generation Housing Project that offers a subsidy of RM20,000 to new generation Felda settlers.

“There are various issues affecting the Felda community, including unemployment, housing, replanting, cost of living and administration problems.

“Najib and BN have taken measures to address these and the prime minister has promised to continue efforts to tackle them.

“BN has provided various kinds of aid in the form of educational opportunities, replanting, businesses, housing, social, welfare and bonuses as promised during GE13. The government did not marginalise Felda settlers.

“Hence, it would be unfair for settlers and the new generation Felda settlers to change now, to give their support to other parties and not Umno or BN who have contributed the most to Felda.”

He said GWGF members and all Felda and new generation settlers were urged to join hands and work towards ensuring Umno’s and BN’s victory at all Felda settlements nationwide.

Rozali said GWGF committee members would visit Felda settlements to lend their support to BN and help its election machinery.

He said they would also listen to issues raised by settlers, discuss solutions and share insights on the government’s past, present and future initiatives and policies aimed at bringing improvements to Felda settlers.

GWGF, he said, was convinced that if the country’s administration fell into the hands of the other political parties, there would be no guarantee for Felda’s continued prosperity and that it would continue to be for Bumiputras.

“They should not fall for unverified claims (about the country, BN and Felda’s administration). We should be able to differentiate between the truth and lies. Felda’s success is due to the commitment demonstrated by the BN government.

“Make a wise choice to ensure that no Felda settlement or settlers will disappear,” he added.
