Kuala Kangsar MP to go all out to defend her seat

KUALA KANGSAR: Barisan Nasional’s (BN) Kuala Kangsar incumbent Datin Mastura Mohd Yazid is going all out to defend her parliamentary seat.

She said she was determined to put all her energy into the 11-day campaign as she was unable to campaign in the Kuala Kangsar by-election in 2016 as she had to observe her iddah (grace period after the death of her husband).

Despite being absent, Mastura managed to defend the seat which was won by her late husband, Datuk Wan Mohammad Khairil Anuar Wan Ahmad, in the 13th General Election.

Mastura said she was excited to take part and would fulfil her responsibilities as a BN candidate by engaging with constituents at the grassroots level.

“I will go to the ground to answer the issues raised by the opposition to ensure that BN wins,” said Mastura, who is facing PKR’s Dr Ahmad Termizi Ramli and Pas‘ Khalil Idham Lim Abdullah.

The Bukit Chandan and Manong state constituencies will see three-cornered fights involving BN, Pas and PKR.

In Bukit Chandan, BN candidate Maslin Sham Razman will face former Lumut member of parliament Mohamad Imran Abd Hamid, who is the PKR candidate and Pas representative Intan Norhani Mohamad Basir.

BN candidate Mohamad Zuraimi Razali, Pas candidate Jamil Dzulkarnain and PKR candidate Mohd Isa Jaafar will fight it out in Manong.
