KUALA LUMPUR: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's presence at the Istana Negara is not for a swearing-in ceremony, according to a PKR man.
Writing on Twitter, Sungai Buloh MP Sivarasa Rasiah said, "This is an audience - not a swearing in."
"Purpose - to satisfy Agong that Tun M commands the confidence of the majority of MPs," he said.
Speculation was rife that Langkawi MP Dr Mahathir is set to be sworn-in as Malaysia's seventh Prime Minister at 5pm.
He arrived at the Palace earlier in a Proton Perdana, however no word has been received on when the ceremony will take place.
