KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Dr Noraini Ahmad aims to spearhead renewal in Wanita Umno and bring about the reforms that the 71-year-old party needs.
The candidate for the Wanita Umno top post said that if she was entrusted with the job, she would strengthen the members’ commitment for change.
“I hope the new leadership can create more leaders who are women of quality and can raise women’s voices to greater heights.”
“This new leadership must also see how effective the wing has been up to today, objectively and with an open heart. This is so weaknesses can be identified and strengths reinforced,” said Noraini in a statement here today.
The Parit Sulong member of Parliament was grateful to have been given the opportunity and strength to offer herself for the post and promised to do her level best in reclaiming the honour of the party.
Also in the running for the post is former Wanita Umno chief Tan Sri Dr Siti Zaharah Sulaiman and Wanita Umno vice chief Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun.
