Amanah Youth flays Azmin for 'act of sabotage'

KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) Youth has lashed out at PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali for what it calls an “act of sabotage” by him against the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition.

Its vice-chief Shazni Munir Mohd Ithnin claimed that Azmin's move to bring together opposition members from Umno and Pas to form a backdoor government is a clear betrayal of the people's mandate given to the PH government in the 14th General Election (GE14).

He said Azmin has openly sabotaged PH, which had a few days ago held a meeting and agreed to let Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad decide on the power transition plan, but he instead chose to cooperate with Umno and Pas.

“Azmin needs to respect the people's mandate in the GE14 to make Malaysia even greater. As Economic Affairs Minister, he should be aware of the responsibilities of working for the betterment of the country,” he said in a statement.

According to Shazni, the backdoor government that Azmin, Umno and Pas are trying to formulate will fail because Pas is not accepted by the Sabah and Sarawak communities.

“Without Warisan and GPS, the attempt to form a backdoor government is futile.

Pemuda Amanah will be steadfast and firm in defending the mandate of the people,” he added.
