IPOH: The 14th Perak state assembly sitting has been postponed for seven days.
Perak state Speaker Datuk Mohamad Zahir Abdul Khalid said the sitting would only be convened on Dec 16 at 2.30pm.
He announced this during the opening of the state assembly sitting at Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan today.
It is understood that there is a requirement that the menteri besar and at least four state executive councillors be appointed before a full assembly sitting can be held.
Former menteri besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu was not at the sitting, nor were any other Bersatu assemblyman except Hasnul Zulkarnain Abd Munaim (Titi Serong).
Pas assemblymen were not present either, with state Pas chairman Razman Zakaria reportedly having to seek an audience with Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah.
Initially, the sitting was scheduled to be held between Dec 4 and 11.
However, it was adjourned on Friday after Faizal lost a motion of confidence as menteri besar.
The Chenderiang assemblyman received 10 votes in favour, while 48 voted against him and one abstained.
A day later, the Bersatu deputy president submitted his letter of resignation to the Sultan.
Faizal also announced that the state excos had all stepped down from their respective positions.
