KUALA LUMPUR: DAP veteran Ronnie Liu has temporarily shelved his intention to quit the party following the recent political developments in the country.
Liu said he wanted to do his part to ensure the victory of Pakatan Harapan (PH) in the 15th General Election (GE15) after the dissolution of the parliament by caretaker Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob on Oct 10.
Earlier, asked if he was still pursuing his intention to leave the party which he joined in 1982, Liu told the New Straits Times via Whatsapp, "(It is) Put on hold. Focus on helping PH to win. For now."
Last week, Liu, who is DAP central committee member, said he would soon quit the party as he had "no choice" but did not state the reason.
He is currently the Sungai Pelek assemblyman and Selangor executive councillor.
