KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan Nasional (BN) will enter the 15th General Election (GE15) battlefield on its own, its chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said.
This was after Pas announcing today that it will remain with Perikatan Nasional (PN) in GE15.
In a statement today, Zahid said since Pas's decision was expected, BN would continue with its plans to offer stability to the country.
"Pas's decision to continue with PN to face GE15 is expected.
"The fact is, Umno has never closed the door to any noble effort towards the unification of the ummah based on the values of sincerity and honesty.
"With this decision, Umno together with BN will continue to move solo by maintaining the image of a party that always focuses on simplicity and is able to offer stability and prosperity to the people of multiple races and religions in this country," he said.
Earlier, Pas in a statement said it would work toward strengthening PN to face GE15 under the "united ummah" concept.
The Islamic part also said that Pas-led state governments of Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu would not dissolve their state assemblies to coincide with GE15.
