KUALA LUMPUR: The Titiwangsa parliamentary constituency will see a four-cornered intense battle among political bigwigs
Umno supreme council member Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani makes a comeback to contest for the seat against Pakatan Harapan's Khalid Samad, Gerakan Tanah Air's candidate Datuk Seri Khairuddin Abu Hassan representing Pejuang and dentist Dr Rosni Adam from Pas.
Johari, who was former finance minister, first won the seat in the 13th General Election but lost the seat to caretaker Woman, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rina Harun in the 2018 polls. Rina will be contesting the Sepang parliamentary seat.
Khalid, the former Federal Territories minister, has moved from the Shah Alam constituency, a seat he had held for three terms, to contest in Titiwangsa.
Khairuddin, a businessman-turned-politician, is contesting the polls for the second time, after his first in Jasin, Melaka in GE14.
Dr Rosni, 52, is the youngest of all four candidates, is contesting under the Perikatan Nasional banner.
A total of 80,747 voters are registered for the Titiwangsa constituency, a majority of whom are Malays.
