No corruption or power abuse when PN led government, claims Hadi

JERANTUT: Perikatan Nasional (PN) will offer Malaysians a clean and stable government if it comes to power after the 15th General Election(GE15), unlike Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) which is tainted by corruption.

Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang said no corruption or power abuse were reported when PN-led the country and same applies to the states which were under the PN government.

"Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah are free from corruption...no cases despite continued pressure from the BN government and we can continue to govern the states. The cases (corruption) which were produced in court are those which occurred during the BN and PH-era.

"When PH was in power, some of the corruption cases were abruptly stopped mid-way and this is worse than BN. To ensure PN is an administration with integrity, all Pas candidates are required to adopt its bai'ah (pledge of loyalty) while Bersatu signed the integrity pledge as a commitment to combat corruption in GE15," he said in his speech before launching the Pahang PN manifesto last night.

Hadi said BN has been in power for more than 60 years and has weaknesses so it is time for them to take a break and allow PN to be in power after HE15, thus allowing a clean and stable Malaysian government.

"PH has its own setbacks including making various promises and not being able to fulfil it......they once pledged to bring down fuel prices and tolls within 24 hours in power. BN and PH appear to be plagued by various issues including corruption," he said.

Meanwhile, Hadi said not all Umno leaders were 'yes men' who agreed to whatever was decided by the top leadership in the party.

"You cannot put all Umno leaders in the same basket as there are some who want unity and are prepared to bring changes but there are also those who want to escape from corruption.

"Now there are some within Umno who have decided to join us including Shahidan Kassim (Datuk Seri) and Ismail Muttalib (Datuk Seri Ismail Abdul Muttalib). There seems to be a wave (support PN) and they have decided to follow the wave....if they go against it then they will sink," he said.

Shahidan is contesting the Arau parliament seat (Perlis) and Ismail in Maran, (Pahang) under the PN ticket. Both are senior Umno leaders, who were dropped in GE15.
