Police report lodged against Hadi for his 'DAP is pro-communist' remarks

KUALA LUMPUR: A DAP leader today lodged a report against Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang over the Pas president's claims that the party was pro-communist.

Lim Lip Eng said Hadi had made the allegation at least four times since parliament was dissolved, the latest being yesterday.

He said Hadi had not only accused DAP of being pro-communist, but also branded others from Pakatan Harapan (PH) with all sorts of labels.

Speaking after lodging the report at the Dang Wangi police station here, Lim said Hadi and other Perikatan Nasional (PN) leaders had been drumming up racial issues instead of talking about real problems faced by the people.

It was previously reported that Hadi tweeted that the DAP should be opposed as it is pro-communist.

In a series of tweets, Hadi said communism was a secular ideology that rejected the belief in God.

"They terrorised more than the Christian and Jewish colonisers," he claimed.

He said while communists here did not carry out military campaigns as those in the West, they would nevertheless colonise the minds of the various races.

Hadi then uploaded three images and descriptions linking DAP to the communists.

The descriptions touched on bringing Chin Peng's remains back to Malaysia, party members allegedly attending a memorial for communists, and allegedly publishing comics that contained such ideology.

"Any effort to uphold or sow such ideology in the country, just as DAP is doing, must be curbed and opposed," he said.

Hadi had also in a Friday sermon in Marang, said Pas would not work with PH as the coalition was led by "communists" and was supportive of the LGBTQ community while Barisan Nasional (BN) was "shady".

He said this when explaining why Pas had chosen to work with Perikatan Nasional instead of BN for the general election (GE15).
