KUALA LUMPUR: Perikatan Nasional (PN) has claimed that at least 10 'warlords' from Umno will join the coalition ahead of the state elections.
Parti Pribumi Bersatu Melaysia (Bersatu) information chief Senator Datuk Razali Idris said among those who will join PN are leaders sidelined by Umno.
"Yes there are those who were sidelined by Umno.
"They voluntarily join one party (in PN) either Pas or Bersatu," he said when met at the PN headquarters here last night.
He said an announcement on the matter would be made before the state election.
He was responding to rumours that Umno leaders, apart from former Selangor Umno chief Tan Sri Noh Omar, and former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin, would be joining PN.
PN information chief Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali previously confirmed that there were eight former Umno leaders who will join the coalition.
Commenting on the progress of the meeting between Khairy and PN chairman and Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Razali said there has been no development regarding the offer as a Member of the Bersatu Supreme Leadership Council (MPC) so far.
"The offer to KJ (Khairy) is not new. In the MPC circle, we are open, we don't see anyone opposing. Most agreed to it," he said.
