BN candidate for Dusun Tua arrives at SK Semenyih to cast vote

SEMENYIH: Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the Dusun Tua state seat Datuk Johan Abd Aziz arrived at Sekolah Kebangsaan Semenyih to cast his vote at 10.59am.

Clad in blue batik, Johan was accompanied by his wife, Datin Norsiah Ismail, and their children, Najwan Iman and Iman Suraya.

The Semenyih state seat is set to witness a straight fight between Hulu Langat Umno Wanita chief Wan Zulaika Anua and Selangor Pas information chief Nushi Mahfodz.

In the 14th General Election, Pakatan Harapan (PH) secured the seat with a majority of 8,964 votes.

A by-election then was called following the death of incumbent PH assemblyman, Bakhtiar Mohd Nor, from Bersatu on Jan 11, 2019.

The by-election, held on March 2, saw BN manage to wrest back the state seat from PH, with 1,914 majority votes.

Meanwhile, in Dusun Tua, Johan is up against Azhar Hambali from Perikatan Nasional and Al Hafiz Ikhwan Mohamad Asaad from Muda.

Johan, when met shortly after casting his ballot said he was satisfied with the voting process.

"I heard that it is a bit slow at certain polling centres and long queues at other polling centres.

"Perhaps, some of the voters have matters to attend to first, especially the traders and they will go out to vote starting at noon.

"However, everything is good and I urged all voters to fulfil their responsibility to vote," he said.
