Hajiji calls out rivals for acting like 'angels (do no wrong)' and spreading false narratives

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has lambasted his predecessor for spreading false political narratives to undermine the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) PH Plus government currently leading the state.

Hajiji described Parti Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal's actions as sowing seeds of discord without acknowledging the accomplishments of the GRS-PH Plus government.

"He claims that the GRS government has failed. However, we have implemented numerous changes. I want to emphasise that we (GRS) have succeeded because we have initiated numerous programmes for the people and their development.

"The failure lies with Warisan, (and) Shafie Apdal. We must ask Shafie, what did Warisan achieve during its two and a half years of governing Sabah previously?

"This is why Warisan and Shafie were rejected by the people. We cannot deceive or speak empty words.

"I say this as I see it. If they hadn't failed, they would have remained the government, but they did not," he stated during the opening ceremony of the Gagasan Rakyat Mini Carnival 2024 in Alamesra.

Hajiji also highlighted his focus on the people and the state of Sabah.

He saidt GRS had attracted investments into the state and had successfully filled the Sabah Oil and Gas Industrial Park (SOGIP), while the Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP) was almost full.

Hajiji further announced plans for a new oil and gas industrial park in Kimanis and another industrial park between Kota Belud and Kota Marudu or Kudat.

"All of this is for the people; we attract investors to create job opportunities, and I focus onthe people. Through the entry of these investors, we can create thousands of jobs. This is what we do, not peddling political stories

"As we approach the elections, everyone attacks as if they are `angels (do no wrong)'. I am attacked day and night," he concluded.
