Woman travels overnight to Gua Musang to support Pas candidate on nomination day

GUA MUSANG: A private sector worker drove overnight from Shah Alam to Gua Musang to show her support to the Pas candidate who submitted his nomination for the Nenggiri by-election today.

Tuan Nor Balqis Tuan Solahhuddin, 21, said she and her friends arrived at the nomination centre as early as 7am to support Mohd Rizwadi Ismail.

She said she was willing to come from Shah Alam to support the candidate despite being tired.

"I immediately left Shah Alam after work and arrived in Gua Musang at 3am.

"I managed to nap for a few hours in the mosque and by 7am, I was already at the gathering place with my friends.

"I will help campaign for Pas, but due to work commitments, I have to return to Shah Alam this afternoon.

"I am originally from Kota Baru and came to Gua Musang solely for the candidate nomination," she said when met at the place where the Pas supporters were' gathering.

Earlier, Rizwadi arrived at the candidate nomination centre at Dewan Perdana Majlis Daerah, Gua Musang here at 8.30am.

More than 2,000 supporters and party leaders were present to accompany the candidate.

They marched from Masjid Taman Mesra, a distance of about 500m before entering the candidate nomination centre.
