KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan has taken a jab at Pas for saying that Umno was worse than the "dajjal".
This was after he cynically told Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang that he was not as pious as him.
"If this is his interpretation of the Al-Quran, then so be it. I may not be as pious as he claims to be. If he wants to label us as dajjals, then let it be," Mohamad Hasan said during his visit to the Laman Media at the Umno General Assembly today.
He added, "We could also call someone dajjal, but we choose not to, as we do not want to further divide Malaysians, especially the Malays."
Previously, Hadi had accused Umno of corruption for collaborating with Pakatan Harapan (PH).
Hadi alleged that Umno and PH, part of the unity government, were exploiting tax revenues for their benefit while depriving the opposition of necessary allocations.
"This shows they are worse than the dajjal, who does not collect taxes," Hadi had said.
