Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar is right in describing the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh as the most heinous crime. It is a murder most foul coming as it does when a ceasefire agreement is being negotiated.
Iran is right in holding Israel responsible for the murder. Benjamin Netanyahu has made it clear, by words and deeds, that he isn't interested in ending the genocide of the Palestinians. Only when Palestine is rid of Palestinians will a ceasefire happen. And there is a pattern, too, to Israel's heinous crimes. What it can't negotiate, it will exterminate, even if it means in the sovereign territories of other nations.
The list of foul murders linked to Mossad, the Israeli spy agency, is a long one, and began as it did just after Israel was plucked out of Palestinian land in 1948. One happened right here in Kuala Lumpur. Another was attempted again here, this time with the help of local traitors.
Even chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) Fatou Bensouda and her family were allegedly threatened by the then chief of Mossad when she announced that the court was investigating Israeli leaders for possible war crimes.
The threat on the current chief prosecutor, Karim Khan hasn't reached a life-threatening level, but he, as was Bensouda, is not allowed to carry out his duty. No arrest warrants, we are Jews, in the words of war criminal Netanyahu.
Shamefully, Britain and the United States, two nations that peddle international law to the rest of the world, did everything to stop Bensouda investigating Israelis suspected to have committed war crimes.
The US, under the presidency of Donald Trump, shocked the international legal community by imposing sanctions on Bensouda and other ICC officials. Never in the history of the international legal institutions has a nation, which signed onto respecting the rule of law, has done such a contemptible act.
The former foreign minister of South Africa, Dr Naledi Pandor, too, had Bensouda-like threats issued by Mossad when the country filed a genocide case against Israel. Israel's allies, Britain, the US and the European Union, are willingly sowing Israel's impunity with the hope of harvesting Tel Aviv's support for their neocolonial interests in the Middle East. But all they have got is disrepute from a more humane world.
There is worse waiting in the shape of international law for the allies of genocidal Israel: the charge of complicity under international law in the crimes of Israel against the Palestinians. These nations must wake up if they are sincere in seeing a rules-based world order.
Hosting a war criminal who is responsible for the genocide of 40,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, as the US did in Congress recently, is most deplorable.
Such inhumane acts as the supply of weapons to Israel when they know them to be used to slaughter Palestinian women and children can't be anything else.
The United Nations, the International Court of Justice, the ICC and the like are just there to parade to the world that the rules-based world order is very much alive. The reality is otherwise. The world must stop such heinous crimes of Israel.
The cowardice of the Zionists is most telling. What they can't do in the battlefield, they will in the civilian world.
