KUALA LUMPUR: Sepang Municipal Council (MPSepang) is constructing a new office tower in Cyberjaya, Selangor, at a cost of RM129 million to accommodate its expanding staff.
The new 18-storey tower is being built adjacent to its current headquarters on Persiaran Semarak Api, which was established in 2008 and has a capacity of only 700 staff.
MPSepang president Datuk Abd Hamid Hussain reportedly said that the building is expected to be completed by Jan 18, 2027.
The new tower boasts a gross floor area of 22,104.9 square meters, providing comfortable space for up to 1,500 staff.
Additionally, it will feature a multi-level parking complex, an amphitheater, and a versatile multipurpose hall, all integrated with green design elements to reduce energy consumption.
Abd Hamid had said that the municipal council was experiencing swift development and anticipated a yearly 5.0 per cent increase in staff numbers.
Financing for the project will be drawn from MPSepang's reserves over the next three years.
Notably, last year, MPSepang allocated a budget of RM250 million for district programmes and development planning, against a projected revenue of RM202 million.
