Jin Wei fired up to improve Malaysia's ranking

KUALA LUMPUR: Goh Jin Wei has pledged to produce her best in three upcoming 'Open' tournaments and help improve Malaysia's ranking in the women's division.

It is a move to assure Malaysia qualify automatically for the Uber Cup Final in Bangkok in May based on rankings.

"I hope I can earn good results in the tournaments. There is no pressure.

"The focus is to earn ranking points for Malaysia," said Jin Wei on Tuesday.

The former world junior champion will compete in the Thailand Masters on Jan 9-14, followed by the Malaysia Masters (Jan 16-21) and the Indonesia Masters (Jan 23-28).

On the Asian Team Championship in February, Jin Wei said it will be a different experience as she will be the country's hope for points.

"I hope I will be able to help Malaysia qualify for the Uber Cup Final.

"We need to play and fight as a unit at the Asian meet.

"I will use the three 'Open' events to improve my quality," Jin Wei added.
