KUALA LUMPUR: Former World No 1 Lee Chong Wei is expected to return next week, according to BA of Malaysia (BAM) president Datuk Seri Norza Zakaria.
Norza, who attended the launch of the Purple League on Wednesday said Chong Wei, who is in Taiwan to treat his early stage nose cancer, has been advised to not travel for another week.
"No, he is not back yet nor is he coming back this week.
"It is understood his doctor has advised him to not travel yet.
"Safe to say he will be back in the first week of October," added Norza.
Norza also hinted that the 36-year-old might call for a press meet soon.
"I do not think it's necessary for the media to wait for him at the airport. Give him some time, I am sure he will hold a press conference soon, once he is back," added Norza.
